At Painting for an Education, we use art to fund education for girls and women living with HIV/AIDS. Every painting sold helps a girl stay in school, giving her the education she needs to build a brighter future.

But we don’t stop there.

We use art to build confidence, strengthen well-being, and empower young people to tell their own stories.

Through our art activities, we help them develop their voice, creativity, and a sense of belonging.

In Kenya, education comes at cost, and families often struggle to afford to keep their children in school. Without education, girls face even greater challenges—poverty, stigma, and limited opportunities.

But education changes everything.

It empowers them to make informed choices, access better opportunities, and build a brighter future.

UNAIDS estimates that over 39.9 million people are living with HIV worldwide, the majority, however, are in Sub-Saharan Africa. Despite huge progress, there are still 328 children a day born with HIV. These are children that will live with the virus all their lives until a cure is found. Technological advances means that treatments are available that will allow these children to live and grow to be healthy adults.

Our Vision

We envision communities where young people living with or affected by HIV thrive, empowered by education, supported through art therapy, and inspired to dream boldly.

Our Mission

Our mission is to ensure that young people affected by HIV not only stay in school but also thrive emotionally through art therapy and creative expression.

We collaborate with NEPHAK and Lean on Me Kenya to ensure that every dollar goes directly to schools. Fees and school materials are payed directly, so all funds are used to help the children.

Throughout my carreer I have been honoured to work with the most amazing people. In 2014, I was working in Tanzania on my day job, meeting the people at the grassroots who implement my organisation's projects.
